  • comply with applicable legal, regulatory and governmental requirements;
  • send promotional communications where you have agreed to receive them or where otherwise permitted by applicable law.
We do not sell personal data to third parties.

6.Basis for Processing

Where required under applicable UAE data-protection law, Montroyal processes personal data with the consent of the data subject or where processing is otherwise permitted by applicable law.

This may include circumstances where processing is reasonably necessary to:

  • respond to a request made by you;
  • take steps connected with a requested service;
  • perform contractual obligations;
  • comply with legal or regulatory obligations;
  • establish or defend legal rights;
  • protect legitimate legal interests recognised under applicable law;
  • protect the rights of Montroyal, its clients or other persons;
  • address security, fraud or misuse;
  • perform another processing activity expressly permitted under applicable UAE law.

The UAE PDPL generally prohibits processing without consent but provides a number of statutory exceptions, including certain legal, contractual, judicial and other permitted circumstances.

Where we specifically rely upon your consent, you may withdraw that consent in accordance with applicable law.

7.Marketing Communications

Submitting a normal rental, property-management, renovation or contact enquiry does not automatically subscribe you to unrelated promotional marketing.

Where Montroyal offers promotional email or WhatsApp marketing, we will provide an appropriate method for you to opt out. You may ask us to stop promotional communications at any time.

Transactional or service-related communications may continue where necessary to respond to your request, manage an existing service or comply with legal obligations.

The UAE PDPL provides rights to object to or restrict certain processing, including processing for direct-marketing purposes.

Sharing and transfers

8.Sharing Personal Data

Montroyal may share personal data only where reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Recipients may include appropriate service providers supporting our operations, such as:

  • website and hosting providers;
  • website developers and authorised technical support providers;
  • database and IT-service providers;
  • email service providers;
  • cloud-storage providers;
  • security and anti-spam providers;
  • analytics providers, where enabled;
  • communications providers;
  • professional advisers such as accountants, auditors or lawyers;
  • contractors or service providers involved in performing an authorised service;
  • competent governmental, regulatory, judicial or law-enforcement authorities where disclosure is required or permitted by law.

Third-party service providers should receive only the information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose and should process it subject to appropriate confidentiality, security and contractual arrangements.

We do not permit service providers to use Montroyal client information for their own unrelated purposes merely because they provide a technical service to us.

9.WhatsApp and Other Third-Party Platforms

Our website may allow you to initiate communication with Montroyal using WhatsApp or another third-party communication platform.

If you choose to use such a service, information you provide through that service may also be processed by the operator of that platform in accordance with its own privacy terms. Montroyal does not control the independent data-processing practices of third-party platforms.

You should therefore avoid sending highly confidential information through general messaging channels unless specifically requested through an appropriate process.

10.International Transfers

Some technology, communications, cloud or service providers used by Montroyal may process or store information outside the United Arab Emirates.

Where personal data is transferred outside the UAE, Montroyal will handle such transfers in accordance with applicable UAE data-protection requirements and use appropriate protections or another transfer mechanism permitted by law.

The UAE PDPL specifically regulates cross-border transfers and distinguishes transfers to jurisdictions providing an appropriate level of protection from other permitted transfer circumstances.

Keeping and protecting data

11.Data Retention

Montroyal retains personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for any additional period required or permitted by applicable UAE law.

Retention periods may depend on:

  • whether an enquiry remains active;
  • whether you become a client;
  • the duration of a booking, management agreement or project;
  • accounting and business-record requirements;
  • regulatory obligations;
  • the need to resolve complaints or disputes;
  • legal limitation periods;
  • the need to establish or defend legal claims.

Where personal data is no longer reasonably required, it may be securely deleted, anonymised or otherwise disposed of in accordance with applicable requirements.

12.Security

Montroyal takes reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against:

  • unauthorised access;
  • unlawful use;
  • loss;
  • alteration;
  • disclosure;
  • destruction.

Measures may include appropriate access controls, restricted administrative permissions, secure website connections, password protection, backups, server-security measures and limiting access to persons who require the information for legitimate business purposes.

No internet-based transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, users should also take reasonable care when transmitting confidential information electronically.

Your rights

13.Your Privacy Rights

Subject to applicable UAE law and any permitted exceptions, you may have rights relating to your personal data, including the right to:

  • request information regarding how your personal data is processed;
  • request access to relevant information about the processing;
  • receive certain personal data in an organised, machine-readable format where the applicable requirements are met;

15.Children

The Montroyal website and its property, management and renovation enquiry services are not designed to solicit personal information directly from children.

If information relating to a child is legitimately required as part of a family accommodation or booking process, it should be provided by a parent, legal guardian or another person appropriately authorised to provide it, and will be processed only as reasonably necessary for the relevant service and applicable requirements.

16.Automated Decision-Making

Montroyal does not currently use the public website to make solely automated decisions about individuals that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

If this changes materially in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated and appropriate information and safeguards will be provided.
